Artwork questions

Answers for a
better handoff.

These are working guidelines for custom programs. The product, decoration method and final order details determine what can be confirmed for a specific project.

01What makes a logo file production-ready?

A vector logo with outlined text is the clearest starting point. If it includes linked images, special effects or multiple color versions, send the original package or explain which version should be used.

02Can I use a PNG, JPG or image from a slide deck?

It can help us identify the artwork, but it may need review before it is suitable for the final decoration. The original design file or a high-resolution export provides more reliable detail.

03How should I describe the color I want?

Share a PMS reference when you have one, along with the desired logo version. We will assess how that color translates to the selected product material and decoration method.

04Can fine lines, small type or QR codes be used?

They may be possible when the product area, contrast and decoration method support them. We check legibility and recommend an appropriate scale before the approved layout is recorded.

05What will the digital layout show?

The layout is used to align the product version, approximate imprint size, placement and color direction. It supports the project discussion and is confirmed with the final product specifications.

06What if I only have an idea, not finished artwork?

Send a brand reference, a rough concept and the product you are considering. We can identify the information needed to move from an idea to a workable artwork brief.

07What should I send with a layout request?

Please include the product reference, estimated quantity, decoration location, preferred logo version and delivery timing. A photo, brand guide or sample image can also clarify the intended result.

08Does artwork need to change for different decoration methods?

Sometimes. Embroidery, screen print, laser engraving and full-color print each have different limits for line weight, detail and color. We identify any adjustments needed for the selected method.

09Can one logo work across different product colors?

Usually, but contrast and material affect readability. We review the product color and may recommend a different logo color, size or placement while keeping the mark recognizable.

10What needs to be approved before production?

Confirm the product version, decoration method, artwork version, placement, approximate imprint size and color direction before the project moves forward.

Before you send

Begin with
the source file.

Keep the original artwork available even when a quick image is useful for reference. It gives the production conversation a cleaner starting point.

01

Choose an editable file

AI, EPS and editable PDF files are preferred for logos because paths can be scaled and prepared for the selected decoration process.

02

Outline any type

Convert final text to outlines or include the font details. This prevents a font substitution from changing the appearance of a mark.

03

Add the project context

Include the product, quantity, imprint location, destination and in-hands date so the file can be considered in its actual application.

A usable handoff

Small details
change the result.

Files work differently across embroidery, printing, engraving and other decoration methods. These notes help identify the right questions before the layout is prepared.

VECTOR

Logos and line artwork

Vector artwork retains clean edges when the imprint size changes. Supply a final logo version with unnecessary hidden layers removed where possible.

RASTER

Photos and full-color art

Use the original high-resolution file at the intended print size. A screenshot, web image or compressed social image may not contain enough detail for production.

COLOR

Brand color references

Provide PMS values when exact brand color is important. Material, finish, decoration method and viewing light can influence the final appearance.

PLACEMENT

Where the mark should sit

Describe the preferred view, orientation and approximate location. We will check the product's printable zone and suitable scale before approval.
